Marine Diver in the Southern Gulf Islands - Salt Spring, Pender, Galiano, Mayne, Saturna

The Canadian Gulf Islands - Salt Spring, Pender, Galiano, Mayne, Saturna, Thetis, and Gabriola - are where a big slice of our mooring and offshore hull work happens.

About diving in Southern Gulf Islands

What makes Southern Gulf Islands different.

These are the Canadian Gulf Islands - Salt Spring, Pender (North and South), Galiano, Mayne, Saturna, Thetis, Kuper, Valdes, and Gabriola. Not the US San Juans across the border. If you're a boat owner on a mooring or in a marina in the Canadian Gulf Islands, we travel to you.

The Gulf Islands have a mix of everything: full-service marinas like Ganges on Salt Spring and Otter Bay on North Pender, smaller member-only yacht club outstations, Telegraph Harbour at Thetis, Silva Bay on Gabriola - plus a huge number of private mooring buoys tucked into coves and bays across every island.

Mooring inspection is the single biggest service category we run in the Gulf Islands. A typical Gulf Islands boat owner doesn't live on-island full-time, so seeing what's happening on their mooring chain and anchor underwater matters more here than almost anywhere else. We inspect annually before winter, photograph everything, and flag components that need attention.

FAQ

Southern Gulf Islands questions.

Which Gulf Islands do you service?
The Canadian Southern Gulf Islands: Salt Spring, North and South Pender, Galiano, Mayne, Saturna, plus Thetis and Kuper and up-island Gabriola. We don't cross into the US San Juans - that's a different diver's jurisdiction.
Do you travel out for a single boat, or only when there are multiple jobs?
Both. For single mooring inspections or hull cleanings we do travel out on our own schedule - typically we're in the islands every 2-3 weeks. If you're flexible on timing we can group your visit with others to keep costs down.
How do private mooring inspections work?
We come out, dive the mooring, inspect chain and shackles with measurement and photos, check the anchor's set and condition, and send you a written report with underwater video. If something needs replacing we can often handle it on the same trip - bring spare chain and shackles with us.
Can you hull-clean a boat on a mooring ball without moving it?
Yes - that's most of what we do in the Gulf Islands. The boat stays exactly where it is. You don't even need to be on board.
