Marine Diving Services at Port Sidney Marina - Sidney, BC

Port Sidney sits right at downtown Sidney's waterfront. Mix of transient visitors, seasonal boats, and local moorage - we service all of them.

Location

About Port Sidney Marina.

Port Sidney Marina is the downtown Sidney waterfront marina, right at the foot of Beacon Avenue. It mixes seasonal moorage, transient slips for cruising visitors from the US and Gulf Islands, and a resident local fleet.

The marina is exposed to the east more than Tsehum Harbour, which means slightly more water movement and slightly better flushing. Visibility is usually solid. In summer, tourist and transient traffic increases water turbidity modestly, but generally it's easy water to work in.

Because Port Sidney has a lot of visiting boats, we see a steady trickle of transient work - cruisers who arrive, notice their bottom is fouled, and want a quick clean before continuing. We can usually fit these in within 1-2 days.

What Diving Looks Like at Port Sidney

What diving here is actually like.

Typical visibility is 8-12 feet in summer. Slight surge on exposed floats during south-east wind but nothing that affects work.

Fouling pressure is moderate - similar to Van Isle Marina. Most seasonal boats need 6-8 week cleaning in season.

Zinc environment is similar to other shore-power marinas - expect 6-month replacement cycles for most boats.

FAQ

Port Sidney Marina questions.

I'm cruising and just tied up at Port Sidney - can you clean my hull tomorrow?
Usually yes. We get a lot of short-notice transient work at Port Sidney. Call (778) 535-4506 and tell us your slip - we'll do our best to fit you in before you leave.
Do you do US-destined boats before they clear CBP?
Yes - we frequently clean hulls for boats about to clear into the US. Some US marinas have fouling restrictions on arrival, and a pre-departure clean from Sidney makes that inspection go smoothly.
