Marine Diving Services at Sidney North Saanich Yacht Club - Tsehum Harbour
Sidney North Saanich Yacht Club sits in Tsehum Harbour with a strong cruising and racing membership. We handle hull cleaning, inspections, and mooring work for the fleet.
Location
About Sidney North Saanich Yacht Club.
SNSYC is positioned in Tsehum Harbour, sharing the harbour with Van Isle Marina, Canoe Cove, and a large private and club mooring population. The club has a mix of club-dock moorage and mooring buoys in the harbour.
Tsehum Harbour water is generally clearer and better-flushed than Cadboro Bay or the Inner Harbour. Fouling is moderate rather than extreme, which means slightly longer cleaning intervals than Oak Bay or RVYC boats.
The SNSYC membership includes active offshore cruisers and racing crews - a fair bit of our work here is pre-departure inspections and pre-regatta prep.
What Diving Looks Like at SNSYC
What diving here is actually like.
Visibility in this part of Tsehum Harbour is typically 10-15 feet - very workable.
Most SNSYC boats can run 6-8 week hull cleaning schedules in season. Racing and cruising boats going offshore get additional race-prep and pre-departure cleanings on top of routine work.
Mooring-ball boats in the harbour get combined hull clean and mooring inspection as efficiency bundles - both done on the same dive.
